School of Social Safety System Engineering is an integrated school that aims to create new knowledge and foster professional manpower by maximizing the synergy effect of education and research through a combination and convergence between Rural System Engineering and Safety System Engineering.
The Rural System Engineering major offers courses in applied science and engineering required to improve the quality of life in the region. It is subdivided into major fields such as farmland creation, rural water resources, rural planning, local environment, bio-production facility engineering, rural resource energy, and rural resource information science. It aims to cultivate talents in irrigation drainage, water engineering, ecological environment, rural planning, farmland creation, and bioenergy fields.
The Safety System Engineering major aims to cultivate safety experts responsible for preventing industrial accidents, mainly in the manufacturing and construction industries, and encourages students to develop engineering knowledge and practical safety management skills in the fields of construction, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and system safety. In particular, the Safety System Engineering program maintains the highest level of professionalism in this field in Korea in terms of specialization in the field of construction safety, human engineering, and system safety.
