
Educational objectives and introduction
As the statistics show that about 70% of the overseas plant market is currently owned by domestic companies, the plant industry is attracting attention as a prospect in the construction sector. Moreover, the government expects to create a new market of about 103 trillion Won in energy and plant industry by 2025. On the other hand, Korea used to have large number of plant experts who had abundant experiences and skills during the high growth period in the past. However now, due to changes in social and economic conditions since the financial crisis, plant experts are now quite short of demand.
This department seeks to secure Korea's competitiveness in the overseas plant construction industry and contribute to resolving the shortage of professional manpower, which acts as a constraint for plant construction orders in line with the expansion of the overseas construction market. This department combines theories and practices related to multidisciplinary plant engineering to foster global talent with technological competitiveness in the plant field. Through this, students will be able to cultivate their creativity as professionals, and grow to future-oriented high-level professionals with the international sense that the time requires.
